Seikilos
Cuarteto

Winners of the Leonardo Grant 2024 (awarded by the BBVA Foundation) and the Grupo Emergente 2021 award from FESTCLÁSICA (Spanish Association of Classical Music Festivals), the Seikilos Quartet is composed of four musicians who met at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Madrid and the JONDE (National Youth Orchestra of Spain). Its members, Ivan Gornemann and Pablo Quintanilla (violins), Adrián Vázquez (viola), and Lorenzo Meseguer (cello), focused their training at leading universities and conservatories across Europe: Musik Hochschule Düsseldorf, HMT Leipzig, Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, and the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. They received lessons and advice from some of the great chamber music ensembles, including the Benewitz Quartet, Hagen Quartet, Quiroga Quartet, Casals Quartet, Trio di Parma, Emerson Quartet, and Mosaiques Quartet.

Currently, the quartet is actively performing in major national concert series and festivals, including CNDM, the International Music Festival of Santander, the Quincena Musical of San Sebastián, the International Music Festival of Granada, Música en Segura, and the Festival Torroella de Montgrí, among others. Following a philosophy of respect and concern for the recovery of musical heritage, the Seikilos Quartet has recently recorded their first CD titled “La generación de los Maestros” with Eudora Records. This recording delves into the repertoire of the first half of the 20th century, featuring the “Castellano” Quartet No. 10 by Conrado del Campo alongside works by Joaquín Turina, Julio Gómez, and Maurice Ravel's Quartet in F Major. They have been members of the International Chamber Music Institute of Madrid at the Reina Sofía School of Music, under the tutelage of Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartett). Recently, they have been invited to participate in the academy of the renowned French string quartet, the Diotima Quartet.

Among their current engagements are performances in Hungary, Strasbourg (France), and Spain, where they will soon perform with pianist Iván Martín. In 2025, they plan to include works by the Madrid composer Conrado del Campo in their repertoire as part of the Conrado del Campo Cycle, joining quartets such as the Diotima Quartet, Gerhard Quartet, and Quiroga Quartet.
